Welcome to Sweet August

I was just wondering, why do we call our distinguished guests "August Visitors"? All my life, I have been mystified by this question...so if you know the answer,kindly drop your response on the comment section.

Either way,it goes some way to show that August is a special month. A month to be held in high regard, and treated with respect {even if I still don't know why} so let's be happy. I'm happy because there are a LOT of things to look forward to this month....business and pleasure.

For me, August marks the beginning of the "Football season". The Premier league comes back to TV on the 10th of August, so if you're not on a SuperSport subscription, you'd be wise to get your decoder now. No be everytime you go de go viewing centre this year (my prayer for you).

 We were talking about reasons why the EPL is the best league in the world, and even if we agreed to differ....there were a few points worth noting. The EPL is very well branded, from the pristine condition of the pitches, to the dope commentary from TV pundits and match day commentators,
 and down to the fact that it is actually the most competitive league in the world right now. Think about the following .....

The 2008/09 season was the last time a team (Manchester United, of course) successfully defended their title.  In that time, PSG has won five (5) of the last SIX (6) Ligue 1 titles, Juventus have won the Serie A title seven (7) times in a row, Bayern Munich has won the Bundelisga six (6) times in a row, and Barcelona have seven (7) of the last ten La Liga titles. That's statistics from the top five (5) leagues in Europe ...before we mention clubs like Celtic, who have defended a domestic treble. If you want to wager a bet now,you'd be wise to bet on Pep and City.....but,can you put your house on it? I doubt that. Anyway,we would watch the games (all 380 games) with enthusiasm.

Other stuff to look out for this August include, #TheMansion {Chicken & Beer,14th August}, the opening of PROOF/ Native Bicycle, a couple of good movies "The Wife (August 17th)" & "Alpha (August 17th)....na preview I see oh! No blame me if the film no hot. The US PGA is on from the 16-19 of August. The US Open begins on the 27th of August. So your calendar should be full.

Let's look to the month, with renowned optimism and PLEASE....be realistic. No more, new month new me bulls**t. Remain focused, and do not let the sound of the world distract you from the ultimate goal.... WINNING.
