Life is what you make of it

Hello, good morning....

Quick question:- why do most conversations begin with idle talk? How was your night? (if my answer was "not fine"....would you rewind, and make it any better?). Have you eaten? (and if I said no, are you gonna text me food?). People say that's how we build conversation, I say that's bulls**t. If you want to talk to someone, go ahead and talk. Don't seek answers to situations, when you have no power to change the outcome.

I haven't been going out much lately, for a couple reasons..... I have been working extra hard during the day, I go to bed very early (get some decent sleep too) and the Buhari economy isn't exactly friendly these days. We have to prioritise spending... for now. Talking about the economy, I had a very strange experience yesterday. For some reason, I rode in a taxi yesterday morning to go get some supplies from the market. The driver asked if he could pick up other passengers, and I agreed (as long as they aren't sharing my space) because it was drizzling slightly. Imagine my surprise, when because of a slight difference in price valuation (N10 to be exact) a potential customer declined to enter the vehicle. She'd rather stand under the rain, than take the ride because of N10!!! Wow....which way Nigeria? That one shock me small.

This week past, I was conducting interviews for staff at PROOF (I took special interest in some departments, and decided to get involved personally) and one question always brought a variety of answers, it got me thinking. What's your favourite club experience? Why do you like going to Club A, B or C. Is it the music? The hype? The ambience? Girls? Ballers? How do you choose your preferred location (kindly share thoughts on the comment section)?

Then there's a few people who want to work at a club, because they need money. No experience. Don't go to parties (not to talk about night club sef). I just need a job. Sorry to burst your bubble, OUR's is not a job. It's a LIFESTYLE. If you don't live it, you can't work it. And for those of you who don't even know what it means to have a proper club experience....well,you're in luck. It's three weeks until we open our doors, so keep your fingers crossed, for you're about to witness entertainment on a whole new level. One thing I can promise you right away, this ain't gonna be "business as usual"....we about to kick it up a notch.

Saturday morning...& even the rains won't deter us from some soccer action, (I thought we used to have August break) so it's off to the playing field for me right away.

Then I'm in front of my TV for the rest of the day, celebrating the return of the EPL .....kinda like Mourinho celebrated Luke Shaw's first career goal last night.

With a bottle of Jameson.... Cheers🍷

  2. Choosing clubbing as a lifestyle steams from a love for the music, the feels, the thrills gotten when you hear it blasting through those speakers
