My online persona
Hello, and welcome to another wet Saturday morning.
I must confess, I'm feeling lazy today...and chose not to go out and play soccer (no be say I even sabi like that before). Instead, I chose to indulge in my other favourite pastime....internet/social media surfing. I have been looking up whatsapp timelines, Instagram pages and DailyMail for about four hours now and decided to write this quickly before my battery runs out.
Today's question:- is it possible to be active on social media, and yet live a private life?
I have some contacts, they post EVERYTHING. I just got out of bed, brushing my teeth, shower time, picture of my breakfast ...and the empty plate afterwards. Cooking lunch and on and on they go, until their timeline is looking a wall clock with 26 points {put up your hands if you're guilty...😊}. Then I also notice the storytellers. The ones who post jokes, inspirational quotes and prayers all day long. I know one guy, his whatsapp timeline is like going to church, the mosque, Comedy Central and the nightclub all at once....but I haven't seen his picture in over a year. It got me curious, how much can people tell about the "real" you from your social media posts?
Anyway, that one is by the wayside. I was also watching episodes of my favourite TV series, POWER last night and a thought crossed my mind. How do you cope when your protégé is scheming AGAINST you? Someone who for years has been your right hand man, and knows all the secrets that make you/ your business click. Like someone pointed out to me the other day, it's like you've been working at a car manufacturing company and in charge of designs.....then all of a sudden, you quit and go set up your own shop. It wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibility, that your previous employers would feel threatened. Well, competition is healthy. It makes you more innovative...so embrace it.
In this particular order am I gonna enjoy my day.... hair saloon, pick up my laundry, a late breakfast, Cardiff v Newcastle (12:30pm), Spurs v Fulham (15:00pm), Chelsea v Arsenal (17:30) and I'm home by 8pm. I'll talk to y'all after church tomorrow.
Have a great day, cheers 🍷
