A Long Weekend

Hello,good morning
Let me begin by explaining my absence for the last few days....co-ordinating an event is no easy task. As I had been announcing for a while,we had #SEPP2 on Saturday and preparing for such a closed event, and putting everything back in order (post-event) is a Herculean task. I think I have slept for like two hours, all weekend. No offence, but I was in no condition to write these last few days.

Well,let me begin from our last discussion. Remember how I told you about the "King of Streets" party with Olamide, hosted by FreshBliss? Turns out, I wasn't the only one who thinks the boy has mad talent hyping. His performance on the microphone struck a chord, and Olamide wasted no time in signing him up to his label (YBNL). Much as I can claim to be sad to watch him leave Benin, I'm elated to see how my people be making mad progress in the world. Congratulations bro, and I believe you're just getting started.
Saturday morning, would you believe it....we prayed for the sunshine, and like he always does, God smiled down on us. Probably rained for just a few, and even that couldn't dampen our spirits. We went out and threw a party!!! Special mention here to the Raving Panda,our dancing HypeMan. If you're not taking note here.... Hype is the new cool,in entertainment. Time flew by,and watching over 15 upcoming (and in some cases already established) acts proved to me that there's a well of untapped talent in Benin-City, and frankly if I was a music producer....I'd be snapping them up now. I can't begin to mention names (we'll be here all day),but some of the boys/girls I heard on the microphone kept me wondering why I didn't set up a stage with a spotlight....I kept scanning the poolside,to see if I was really listening to a live performance or it was just the DJ. Well, for those of you who missed out I can only say,congratulations. I hope you had a valid excuse,to miss out on a great time this weekend.
Needless to say, attending service was always going to be a stretch and unfortunately, we couldn't be up in time (the rains also came down hard,I'm sure it had been waiting in reserve) and so had to miss church. This is where it gets interesting though. Failure to attend service these days, could open doors to other opportunities for you to listen to preaching from a different source. I just stayed in bed and listened to a podcast from Joel Osteen, and my word....it was a fulfilling experience. I couldn't have asked for a better spiritual experience (and was quite a change,from the norm we have here with prosperity/ austerity preaching). All that was left,my offering. Now seeing as I couldn't take it to the altar,I'm going to take it to the streets. Stay tuned for a giveaway,from the Knights of the Night...shortly.
