Who's your Daddy
Hello Tuesday.....good morning,
I was away for the weekend, or just too preoccupied to even write anything. Make una no vex. 🙏. Sometime during the weekend, I was involved in a very very thought provoking discussion. I bet this one will hit you somewhere today....."how do you know your FATHER is your father?"
Myself and a couple neighbours were talking about our earliest memories. For some, it was just a ploy to remind us how we are "small boys" but I was of the opinion that, we mostly remember things/ people who made an impact on our lives. How do you walk up to me and say, "we were classmates from Oregbeni estate school?" That was a very LONG time ago, and dare I say.... I don't remember you. I however met someone who told me he remembers so many details from his infancy, (I use that term because we are even talking about events that happened before he was five years old) I was not very quick to believe most of what he said.
I asked more questions though, and realised that most of the people he "remembers" from those years are people he still sees until this day. They're practically neighbours (taking into consideration how the world itself is now a global village).
Now, if you want to be objective though, you would realise that most of the things we know now are stuff that we were told. When you were grown enough to understand, someone told you "Say Daddy". And so it began.... The rest we can chalk up to experience. No one will remind you not to play with fire after it burns you the first time. As for people from the early days, I remember some of my seat mates from primary school (mainly cause of close proximity), the ones who ran fastest (young celebrities) or won school awards for brilliance. For those who remember what team won the World Cup, that was played when you were TWO years old, I hail 🙌🏾.
It's a new week, and there's a lot of progress already. It has stopped raining for one, and we pray the week ahead is as bright at the early morning sunshine. Personally, I got a lot to look forward to. I was looking up my calendar yesterday, and I realised that in the last EIGHT months I have practically been taking a break from actively working. I really used to be good at being out all night....EVERY NIGHT. This year though, I have been concentrating on a couple other stuff, and hosting the occasional party but the good news is I AM BACK.
I hope I see y'all at #TheMansion today....please don't forget your ATM cards at home. Have a wonderful day, CHEERS!!!🍷
